This evening we went to The Deniz Kizi hotel to an RBL evening, which included a chicken curry and a quiz night. Joan and I teamed up with Sue and Andrew, who are regular quiz attendees. Their opinion and that of many others was that the questions were harder than usual. However, we managed to come in someplace in the middle of the field. Quite a fun evening and Joan and I now real;ise that you need to attend these sort of evenings regularly if you want to get higher up the ladder of success.
Tuesday, Joan went off with the “Girls” today to a Ladies Day at the Acapulco Hotel on the other side of Girne. This apparently included an Aqua Aerobics session, use of the Sauna, Hot Tub, the Indoor Pool and there was unlimited coffee and then lunch thrown in. The general opinion seems to be, lets do this more often, so guess I can expect some Tuesdays on my own.
I’ve just come across your blog and really enjoyed reading it. My husband and I met in Famagusta in the early 1960s. We returned to Northern Cyprus after 50 years last year and were disappointed that although we went back to Famagusta we couldn’t go back to our old haunts! Having said that we have just booked to return this September staying at The Almond Holiday Villlage (same place as last year). Please keep writing about your adventures and any recommendations about eateries would be appreciated
