April 24th 2016

We have received many comments and mailings about the lack of postings on this blog. Sorry folks but, yes I have been unwell for a little while now and also involved with the job of treasurer at our local church. However I am also struggling with an outdated website and you have maybe noticed that there are no special photo pages, no advertising links etc, they have all disappeared.

I have decided therefore to let a friend, (website designer), in Holland, start a new site for us. This clearly will take a couple of weeks to get going and will replace the old Frank and Joan which has been running for 14 years now.

So please a little patience and I will endeavour to get up and running a.s.a.p.

  5. I had wondered what had happened, and thought about sending you an email. So very sorry to learn you’ve been unwell; this, together with the work at the church, must have meant a struggle for you over the last few weeks. I hope, and pray, that you’ll feel better very soon. Looking forward to the unveiling of the new website – but, more importantly, take good care of yourself.

  6. I HAVE BEEN READING, ON A WEEKLY BASIS, YOUR INTERESTING BLOGS FOR 14 YEARS, AFTER HAVING A HOLIDAY IN NORTH CYPRUS FOR THE FIRST TIME, FOLLOWED BY MANY MORE IN THE LAPTA AREA, AND WAS CONCERNED BY NOT SEEING IT FOR THE LAST FEW WEEKS.
I SINCERELY HOPE YOU HAVE RECOVERED COMPLETELY FROM YOUR RECENT ILLNESS, AND WISH JOAN AND YOURSELF THE VERY BEST OF HEALTH, AND EVERYTHING FOR THE FUTURE. WELCOME BACK. Bob

  10. Hi Joan & Frank,
So good to see you on the web again. I fully understand your reasons for the absence. I really hope that Frank starts to feel better soon. I looked at the site every day and knew something must be up. Phyl and I were meant to come over about this time in April but sadly my Mum passed away and funeral arrangements are for this week. We are aiming on coming over again in Sept or Oct this year and hope to bump into you.
I wish you both all the best and carry on enjoying life in Northern Cyprus.

    Best regards

    Siegfried (Ziggy) &Phyllis Hebdon

  11. I love reading your news of life in North Cyprus. So sorry to hear you have both been unwell and our best wishes to you both for a speedy recovery.
We recently paid at the kibtek office in Girne money in advance towards our electricity costs for our apartment and are having trouble in translating the receipt we were given. Could you possibly shed some light on what it says on these receipts.
