Our adventures in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus continue....
Went with Kemal, his young son and his father in law, to the first premiership game of the season. The team to support is Kyrenia who play in a red strip and their No 9 wears white boots. But there the resemblance ends. Lots of real enthusiasm and some reasonable skill, the ref's yellow card was on elastic so that he could get it in and out of his pocket quickly and even the red came out twice. Both sides 10 men half way through the second half. The spectators were also equally enthusiastic, one from our home team stand went to the opposition stand, started a fight and the police sat on the wall and watched. All this entertainment for £1.20 and free car parking, I'll definitely be going again.
