Our adventures in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus continue....

Joan and I have just returned from a charity luncheon were the guest speaker was Sir Bernard Ingham. There is a link to these charity lunches on our web pages, but this is the first we have attended, this one was mainly because I always used to enjoy the TV shows that Sir Bernard was involved in just after the Margaret Thatcher era. A highly amusing speaker with lots of anecdotes from his time as press secretary to Margaret Thatcher.

This luncheon was also attended by Mr Rauf Denktas, President of TRNC and I believe that this is the first time he has shown a serious interest in these functions. Unfortunately were we sat it was extremely difficult to get good photos, mainly because they had plate glass windows behind them, so we will have to make do with the buffet shot.
