Our adventures in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus continue....

Today we were trying to get the kitchen equipment installed in two houses, but the importers van broke down and they were stuck on the wrong side of the mountain, so we gave it up and Ertugral kindly helped me by going over to Nicosia in his truck to collect a stone table we had ordered for the terrace. Joan and I had decided that one of these tables would be a boon on the rear terrace, as it should just be able to be left there in all weathers. We had ordered this direct from the factory, where
they make them out of concrete with stone inlays and all beautifully polished up. It cost originally around £40.00, but because we did our own pickup, we got a 20% discount, a real bargain. Now came the problem bit, these things weigh an absolute ton, or that is what it felt like and it had to go up the stairs. So, we got two strong guys from the nearby building site, got them to carry it up for us and gave them the 20% discount, still think it was a real bargain. We have also been to our favourite wrought iron man, "Metal Mickey" and asked him to make four chairs to go round this table. George and Susan had bought some metal chairs in an auction and we loved the design, so we had borrowed one of these to copy from, they should be ready in the next week. Oh yes, for the cat lovers amongst you. They are getting along fine, although Tiggy sometimes has to go and find somewhere to hide, were Smudge can't get at her with all those teeth and claws. All in all they have got it pretty well together by now, and the little one is growing very quickly
